The Lulu Mall Lucknow was inaugurated by Hon’ble Chief Minister of Uttarpradesh on 10th July 2022, A controversy broke out when a Video went viral of 8 people offering Namaz in the Mall. Right Wing opposed the same and requested permission for Hanumaan Chalisa in the mall which was subsequently denied.
An FIR was also filed under sections 153A (promoting enmity between different groups) and 295A (deliberate act intended to outrage religious feelings) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) against a group of unidentified people who allegedly offered namaz at the mall recently, the entire episode seems to be a propaganda a purposeful prank intended to get fame for the mall.
The Mall came into National Media within a week of inauguration, the same was not in media even after inauguration by UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath Ji, but this incident gave the mall an instant hype in media.
The CCTV footage clearly shows that these 8 men entered the mall, and in a rush tried to offer namaz in an opposite direction to that is used to offer namaz this was clarified after 3 days of the incident.
